Title: Mixed Media Ajisai (Hydrangea) Kanzashi
Date: July 2009
Medium: Derwent Pencil Crayons and Copic Markers
This originally began as a sketch in one of my larger sketchbooks and then I suddenly felt like coloring something. Thus, my brain took over and had some fun in doing a new project. This is 1 of 3 styles of this image that were produced. This one combined the boldness of the of the ink with the softness of the pencil crayons. This one is just a traditional blue color for hydrangeas and not multicolored like the others. I'm aware that normal hydrangea kanzashi do not have falls but it made this piece indepedent and I plan to make whichever version is liked the most
Total Time: (Not including sketching time) Around 4-5 hours.
