Title: Phoenix Kanzashi
Date: March 2009
Medium: Red Polyester, Yellow Cotton/Poly Blend, Fake Bird From The Dollar Store, Red Metalic Embroidery Thread, Metal Wire, 5mm Bells and LOTS OF HOT GLUE!
So, this was my first kanzashi to have falls (normally I get too lazy to make them) and was used at McMaster's Pangea festival on March 7th. I found a little plastic bird at the dollar store and used the base of it (I took our the feathers and such that it had on it) and then glued the fabric onto there. It turned out to be a really neat 3D piece that attracted a lot of attention to
who was wearing it. I'm still looking for pictures of it being worn though.
Total time: so much time cutting out squares @_@ I'd say at least 10-12 hours of work.
